CareerTrackers is a national movement advancing First Nations careers, leadership, and excellence. We partner with universities, industry, and community to build a future where Indigenous professionals thrive in every sector of Australian life. Through our internship, mentoring, and leadership programs, we walk alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander university students to shape tomorrow’s leaders.
With over 15 years of impact, we are trusted by students, employers, and alumni as a collaborative force for generational change.
The Young Indigenous Women in STEM Academy is delivered by CareerTrackers in partnership with the CSIRO, and has been operating since 2017. CSIRO support students from Grade 8 through to mid-way Grade 12 where they are then transitioned across to the CareerTrackers Team to be supported for the remainder of their High School year and through to tertiary education.
The Academy is a community of almost 300 female identifying Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students studying across the fields of science (including medicine), technology, various engineering streams, business functions and mathematics. With some predicting that 75% of all jobs will require STEM skills over the next decade, we are part of the movement ensuring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are represented in the sector.
